Our factory in China is compliant with the Business Social Compliance Initiative. BSCI is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within factories. This ensures that employees are working in suitable conditions and they are implementing the principle international labour standards to protect workers rights.
Our factory had a full audit in April 2016. This looked at areas such as Social Management System and Cascade Effect, Workers Involvement and Protection, Discrimination, Fair Remuneration, Decent Working Hours, Occupational Health and Safety, No Child Labour, Protection of the Environment and Ethical Business Behaviour. The factory passed all of these standards with flying colours and was graded very highly in many areas.
KNOBBY textiles are tested and certified to receive the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX. This is a comprehensive, third-party testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of production. Our accreditation shows that all textiles used to make our underwear have been tested with a comprehensive and strict catalogue of measures to ensure our product is safe and free from any harmful substances or chemicals.
One component of our current packaging is made from Buffalo Board using natural kraft fibres that are fully recyclable, carbon neutral and PEFC certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests. We are approved to use the carbon neutral logo on our packaging so customers are aware of our commitment to sustainability.
We have future plans to remove all plastics included with the product packaging. We are currently testing EVA PVC certified packaging to replace our current packaging. EVA is considered to be a safe alternative to PVC, as it doesn’t require plasticisers like phthalates, and it’s BPA free.
